As both a childbirth and postpartum doula, I love helping families of all shapes, sizes and configurations welcome a new baby. I became a doula because I know that it is extremely valuable for families to have a well-trained, experienced, calm and knowledgeable guide by their side during pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.

Not only have I been where you are, but I am also specifically trained to provide practical, physical, emotional and educational support throughout this transitional time. I consider it an honor to play a small role in these precious moments, and I continue to be gratified when my presence makes a positive difference for families.

I have attended roughly 70 births, and have experience supporting high risk cesarean deliveries, completely natural home births attended by a midwife and many variations in between. For many of those families, I have provided postpartum support as well.

Every birth is very different and my role varies, but my commitment to attending to the unique needs of you and your family is constant.

I have been working as a doula in the greater Milwaukee community for over 5 years, including 3 years, on staff as a doula at the Columbia Center Birth Hospital in Mequon (now Ascension). I am now a childbirth & postpartum doula in private practice. As a Certified Lactation Counselor, I am well-equipped to provide breastfeeding guidance and support and to help you get off to the best possible start during those critical early days postpartum.

My philosophy of birth is simple. I believe, birth matters, especially the experience of the birthing person. That she is treated with dignity and respect throughout, that her voice is heard, and that she and her partner have access to evidence-based information is of the utmost importance. Other than that, I do not come to the process with any particular agenda. I believe that you and your loved ones are in the best position to make your own informed choices.

My goal is to help you to have the childbirth experience

you want, whatever that looks like for you.

Providing postpartum support, I help parents navigate the many changes and challenges that can arise with a new baby. My practical, informational and emotional support eases the transition during this important time. I hope to work myself out of a job, leaving in my wake strong, confident parents who trust their instincts and are finding their new “normal” and their own parenting groove.
